THE HISTORY OF THE SQUIRREL GROUP
The Squirrel Hotel collection began with the purchase of the Bells Hotel and Golf Club in the Forest of Dean.
The collection has grown to include the Netherwood Hotel in Grange over Sands, The Morritt in Greta Bridge, near Barnard Castle and Hall Garth Darlington.
North of England Estates limited, the parent company of The Squirrel Group was first established in 1934 and to this day remains a family business currently run by its board of directors

THE NETHERWOOD HOTEL & SPA
The Netherwood Hotel & Spa is only 15 minutes drive from the M6 on the northern edge of Morecamble Bay, a ten minute drive will take you to the shores of Lake Windermere and a further ten minutes to Bowness and then on to Hawkshead. Only a mile from the National Park, guests visiting to the Lakes to walk or cycle there have some excellent routes straight out of our door, including access to Brown Robin Nature Reserve from the hotel gardens. Grange over Sands is in itself a pretty town to explore, retaining its Edwardian hey day charm, stroll the promenade and explore the charming independent shops and cafes, only a few minutes walk from the hotel.

The Bells Hotel is one of the most popular resorts for golf breaks in Gloucestershire and the Forest of Dean. Founded in 1973 the course is known for its unique rolling parkland, beautiful lakes, streams and spectacular woodland. The 18 hole, par 69 golf course poses challenges for golfers of all skill levels and is joy to play.
